A UNESCO Heritage site, the fort is a symbol of chivalry and courage of the Mewar dynasty. It is one of the biggest forts of India. You see one of its towers, Vijay Stambha, here.
MY FAVOURITE PLACES OF UDAIPUR
Once a splendid palace of Rajput queen Padmavati, this place is now in shambles, but reminiscent of the bygone era and is popular for its romanticism.
Meera Bai was a princess of Mewar and left everything for her love of Lord Krishna. The temple in Chittorgarh is known for its ancient architecture.
A lovely temple known for intricate sculptures on its walls, Earlier a burial place of royal family.
A royal complex of 11 palaces known for their mirror, granite, and marble works. Building it took 400 years.
The most beautiful structure inside City Palace is Manek Mahal or Ruby Palace and has some splendid glass-in-lay works.
You cannot avoid admiring this royal swing crib which forms part of the Manek Mahal.
In City Palace, you can see King Maharana Pratap's armour and weapons that he used in battles with his enemies.
Udaipur is aptly called the city of lakes. The ones that we visited were Fateh Sagar Lake and Lake Pichola.
Boating over the calm waters of Fateh Sagar was a refreshing experience. You can choose between regular, motor or speed boats.
Boating in a boat over Fateh Sagar at sunset gives you some really enchanting views.
We were at the hotel rooftop and it was about the sunset time. We captured a lovely yellowish red hue.
Yet another romantic view from out hotel's balcony. It was raining and lake was almost invisible.
